The concept behind these pieces are outdoor activities representing various Vancouver recreational activities, such as hiking, snowboarding, rock climbing, fishing, cycling and rowing. Some of these pieces on the ceiling and floor specifically name several trails, lakes, mountains, and courses that are familiar to the local residents. It was important to the designers to bring the local culture and lifestyles into the overall design.
